The Dream

As a young girl, Suzanne Bonham dreamed of a career that would fulfill her passion for food, fun and hospitality. Her aspirations would take her to the place famous for making dreams come true—Walt Disney World. Suzanne was fortunate to have traveled the globe to countries such as Europe and Africa teaching others the magic of a memorable guest experience.

While this international adventure was truly amazing, Suzanne’s life dream was to build her own unique dining experience. In 2004, she founded Urban Flats® as a “refined casual” restaurant and wine bar where the centuries-old flatbread is given a modern new twist with interesting, fresh and healthy ingredients. And, the tastefully selected wines from around the world pair perfectly with your gourmet flat.

The Fabulous Flatbread

The flatbread has been around for centuries, even dating back to the earliest creation of bread. And, we all know that pizza has been a long-time favorite. Today, Urban Flats® is taking authentic flatbread to the next level with a fresher, healthier, more delicious alternative. Our gourmet flatbreads are baked in the stone-hearth oven we call “the heart of the house.” Topped with the freshest high-quality ingredients, we bring the flatbread to life and add a whole new dimension of taste to the palate.

With the gourmet flatbread as the cornerstone of our menu, we have the freedom to be creative by adding upscale ingredients to enhance new flavor experiences. While we maintain our signature classic and contemporary dishes on the menu, we keep the selection fresh by offering seasonal and regional favorites. That means there’s always something new to try at Urban Flats®!

From the moment you step inside our “flat”, you’ll feel a special connection to the past with an impressive photographic collection that quietly whispers each city’s unique story. This cosmopolitan sensibility is perfectly complemented by the enchanting aroma of ancient flatbreads baking in the hearth oven. The exposed ducts, painted concrete floors and wrap-around sidewalk café add to the urban appeal.

At Urban Flats®, we are passionate about urban renewal and being part of this special modern renaissance happening around the country. We truly care about these extraordinary cities we now call home.
